Party at the Parkison House

We had two of the Bible study classes from church over to grill and hang out.  It was a blast and we had around 60 people there.  We ate, socialized, played games... even wiffle ball in the dark.

Can you tell Seth liked the cup cakes?
I took the cup cake from Seth, not realizing it was on Levi's fingers and my arm.  He was just eating away.  :)

Fall in the Summer

This summer there has been strange weather.  Not that I am complaining or anything, because it has been nice.  It was so nice, that one morning we ate out on the back porch and it was borderline chilly.

Look at Seth and his "coffee cup".  Anything to be like Daddy!

New Additions

Meet our newest additions...

This is Jack...he likes to stand in pageant pose at all times. :)

This is Shorty...she has the short tail.
This is her favorite place to sit.

We actually inherited Jack and Shorty from a family in our church.  They are moving and needed a new home for the dogs.  We had just gotten our fence and we have dog sat for them before...we took them on a trial basis and now there is no way they can ever leave!

These dogs are so low maintenance, and so great with the kids and Samson.  They are a part of the fam now!

Cookies

Grammy gave me these cool alphabet cookie cutters. Love them!

Sumanuma Man

Seth got out of the bath the other night and started saying "Sumanuma Man".  Since I am his translator...I was struggling trying to figure out what he was saying and he went and got his Superman figure.  "Sumanuma Man".

Here to save the day!

No Ideer

I have no Ideer what he was thinking...

You may remember from a previous post that Scott shot his first trophy buck and we had discussions about where to hang it.  The final decision was the bonus room or his office.

So, I was gone last week and came home at 2:30am and was walking up the steps carrying my little boys to bed and I jumped from being startled.  There was something on my wall right there level with my face.  Scott's deer.

I was pretty hot at that point, but decided the middle of the night was not the time to "discuss" the issue.

The next morning I go out to see this thing on my living room wall only to see it is not centered and just randomly placed on the wall. (My opinion and not Scott's...he thinks it looks great!  Oh, and in his defense..."it is not randomly placed.  It is on a stud!")

To make matters worst it is the first thing you see when you walk in front door...lovely.

I have agreed to leave it up so he can show people coming over tomorrow from church, but tomorrow night he will be in a new home!

And you can be my cow girl

"Yuck"

Ladies and gentlemen...I am proud to report that Seth has gone "yuck" (#2) in the potty!!!

As you may remember a few weeks ago he had started showing an interest in going potty, and we have only actually done it twice since then. He asks quite often, but i think he is asking when he is actually going in his diaper if that makes sense.

Anyways...right after lunch he asked if he could go...well, let me back up to this morning.

I have been cleaning the house all day today.  We have a group of about 45 people coming over from church, so I am trying to get ready.  Seth asked me to go potty this morning and I sat him down walked out of the bathroom and continued dusting one room over.

Well, I realize I hear him laughing and playing in his bed room, and it dawns on me he does not have a diaper on.  So, I walk in there and realize he has gone #1 on his bedroom floor.

I give him a lecture about how he is not to get off the potty and how the only place to go potty is in the potty.  Of course, he is grinning at me while I am saying this and I am trying not to laugh.

OK, as i was saying...after lunch he asked to go potty again.  I remind of him of the previous conversation and tell him next time there will be consequences.  I run down stairs and change the laundry over and he starts calling my name..."mommy, come here."  As I walk up the stairs I hear him saying "yuck" over and over in a disgusted voice.

I am dreading what I am about to see...but there he was...my little boy standing there pointing to the potty and saying "yuck".  He went #2 in the potty!!!

I am so proud!  I cheered and danced around as he just stood there and smiled.  And since no one else was here to celebrate...I made sure Seth heard me tell Levi how awesome his big brother was for going in the potty and how happy and proud his mommy was.  I could see this look of satisfaction across Seth's face as I praised him publicly...so sweet!

Can you tell i am excited?

Double Trouble

Miss South Carolina 2009

It's always fun to go back and visit my family and all my friends with the Miss SC pageant.  The week flew by, but we enjoyed watching my sister in her final week as she gave up her Miss SC Teen Crown.

T- T- in the potty!

Seth has been showing a slight interest in going potty for the past 5 months.  Especially, after being around his 4 year old cousin in Mississippi...he really started showing an interest.  So he went this past Wednesday.  He asked to go and Scott was just about to give up, but then it happened.

Seth actually went one other time right before Levi was born, but has not done it since...until this week!  Since this 2nd victory, he has continued to ask and let us know when he needs a new diaper.

I hope he keeps on trying and that this is not another one hit wonder!

Over the past few months we have been trying  to encourage himwith jelly beans.  While in Mississippi and trying a whole lot more...he told me he wanted "birday cake".

So he got his "birday cake" this week!!!

Here is a video...celebrate with us!

Father's Day pics

Father's Day was the first time we had been at church in a few weeks.  It was also Baby Dedication for Levi.  Baby dedication is something our church does for parents and the church family to vow that they will help raise the children up in the ways of Jesus Christ.  It is always special to make that commitment as a parent and to hear your church family commit to help you!  I have a video of the dedication, but it is long.  I have tried loading it for two days now, but it just isn't happening...so here are some pics of the day instead.

Emma really missed Seth... giving him a bear hug!
Little buddies!  I made t-shirts as a surprise for Scott as well.  As you can see, Seth's said "I love my Daddy" and Levi's said "Preach it Daddy!"  Both shirts had a picture on the back of them with Scott saying..."I belong to the World's greatest Dad"
Another special thing that happened that day is my cousin Laurie, her daughter Evan, and her mother in law Ga Ga came to see Levi dedicated and to hear Scott preach.  Thanks for coming guys!!!

You can't see it, but Seth was trying to feed Evan some of his refried beans.  :)
